If you’re in business, you know that sometimes things may not go well as you expected especially in the beginning. For me this was a rude shock! Things did not add up because for most of my life, I was a high performer and achiever in school and at work, and I also had an MBA which I has thought would make it easy. So the fear of failure started running the show in my life, and at some time, the fear of success too. Even though I later got to know why I had these struggles, the impact in my life had already been made. My confidence had been dented.
😐 Without knowing it, I hid behind perfectionism,
😐 I got into the comparison game…especially looking at what other people in the same business industry were doing
😐 I became a self confessed work-aholic slaving away at my laptop for an average of 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. Twice I did a full 24 hours!!
😐 There is no way I could have survived depression. And I didn’t even know what I experiencing was depression until much later!
😐 And then, there was the shiny object syndrome where whenever I saw a seemingly lucrative business…I was there! Thinking that’s where I will finally be successful!

“I started out my cake business as a hobby and eventually I decided to do it commercially, but I had set my mind to do doing orders for small functions like birthday, bridal showers and office.
